Richard Wood Park is located near the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Franklin Street. The park is named after local pharmacist Richard H. Wood who was a very prominent citizen and great benefactor to the town during his lifetime. The pecan tree shaded park has a soft surface walking track, a playground with climbing wall, exercise equipment, a rentable pavilion, restroom facilities, and grills and tables for picnicking. The park is the site of most of the town activities that go on throughout the year.

The park pavilion may be reserved for parties or events by contacting Thorsby City Hall at 205 646-3575 ext. 1. The cost of rental is $20.00 per hour.
